RelieveIt and Black Girls RUN Announce Partnership
TAMPA, FL and RICHMOND, VA, August 15, 2020 (USF Connect).
RelieveIt and Black Girls RUN are pleased to announce they have entered into a partnership to promote healthy living and a pain-free active lifestyle by educating runners on the benefits of using natural products for overall wellness.
Black Girls RUN encourages new and veteran runners to combat the obesity epidemic through running. With 74 groups and 250,000 members the organization partner with races across the country bringing more representation to these events. Since Covid-19 the community has pivoted to a virtual program, utilizing a fitness calendar, challenges, and virtual runs to keep the members engaged.
“We are excited about this partnership with RelieveIt, as it pairs perfectly with our mission to living a healthy and active lifestyle,” said Jay Ell Anderson, Co-founder of Black Girls RUN. “Through their natural product to manage pain, our members will be able to sustain physical activity and be able to enjoy the pavement.”
RelieveIt is the first plant-derived anti-inflammatory drug discovery credited to a black-owned company in the history of the United States. Science was applied to innovate a natural, anti-inflammatory plant remedy to help address global health and wellness needs of the consumer. W. Caleb Williams, CEO/Founder of RelieveIt rediscovered a family remedy that his grandmother created in the late 1800s to treat pain on the island of Trinidad. Back then modern medicine was only available to aristocrats, so the common man relied on community healers like Mother Skinner, his grandmother who were skilled in the ways of traditional medicine practices.
Indicators from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) states 80% of African-American women are overweight due to an unhealthy diet and sedentary lifestyle. This combination often leads to chronic diseases and shorter lifespans.
“This partnership with Black Girls RUN is especially satisfying because their members have taken steps to achieve active and healthier lifestyles. This fits perfectly with the RelieveIt mission which is it to help make the world a healthier place by providing natural, safer, effective alternatives to drug products that have harmful side effects and those that only mask pain,” said W. Caleb Williams, CEO/Founder of RelieveIt.
